After a while, Zay's thoughts had drifted back towards when she mentioned children, his eyes opening as he turned his head towards her, watching and studying her profile with an easy gaze. His jaw was working a bit, however, as he didn't know quite how to admit anything he was feeling or thought, as he had never really done so to someone. It was new grounds for him, but part of him wanted to tell her, and yet the other, more feral and wary side decided against it. His face twisted in conflict.

"Knowing if you would run or stay," he murmured without thinking, and realizing he said it aloud, his ears grew a little red, but his expression remained a little serious and uncertain and bright all at once.

Pausing at his statement, Avery's lips purse slightly as her mind scrambles to find a suitable answer, gaze wavering when she finally speaks "The only reason I would run would be if I felt I was in danger by being near you." she murmurs, knight ideals stuck on her "But. I don't think I would, not without a imminent threat. Which I hope will never happen." inhaling softly, her mouth twists into a small smile "I doubt your thoughts will scare me off, I like you too much for that."

Zay smiled, looking at their hands, thinking a moment. Still unsure how to voice it, he took a gander. "What if... What if I said I wanted to stay, to have you and Aru, and us... As Aru put it, be a family." His iceberg gaze rose and looked at her, studying as the heat remained in his ears. Outside, he was composed. inside, he was panicking.

Zay gave a small smile, hesitating a moment, then leaned over and gently brushed his lips across cheek, leaning back a bit. "Just like a heart was thawed, those walls will come down in time, I'm sure. As for the sleep walking," a small laugh was evident in his voice, "it's nothing that can't be handled, I'm sure."
