"Then can you peel these? I'll cut them with the rest of the veggies."
"Yes sir." answers automatically , going to rinse his hands thoroughly. Grabbing the knife he picked one up and got to work. At the thought of who he was making it for, his face softened a little. He wanted to do his best to help Forest, and not make a mess.

Getting some food along with a new cloak, Jakys packs it into the bag at his back, green eyes finding Iberia after a moment

Once he finishes, she looks him over a moment. "Are you sure that's all you'll need?"
"Yes sir."
Forest begins working on the meat, dicing it up before tossing it into a large pan, moving it over the fire with some water. Next, he starts on the veggies, though he pauses and throws in a few fresh herbs that he had growing inside. His nose twitches as he thinks of another spice, and he tosses it in before returning to chopping the rest of the vegetables.

Cenric finished as Forest returned to cutting the veggies. Eyes watching his hands, he looked at the potatoes silently, wondering if he should try to do what was asked of him earlier.

"I can't think of anything else I would need, and besides," Jakys murmurs, turning to face her fully "The quicker I leave the farther I can get before nightfall."

She studies him, pursing her lips as she sighs. "If you're certain. When you make it back, tell Vras I'll follow in a few day's time. And tell him about the girl and see if he knows anything about her." Her voice lowers at the mention of Esper. "I need to know who she is."
Forest works quietly, hand moving to grab a potato before he notices Cenric's concentration, and he smiles. "Would you like me to show you how?"

Cenric blinked at the hand obscuring his vision before he nodded. "I...want to help." he looked up at the man, trying to smile.

At the mention of Esper, Jakys stills, lips pursing as her face flashes through his head before he nods "I will, Sherai."

Iberia nods and starts back towards Caspian's cabin, Iniago lingering back just a bit before he starts walking too casting a glance over his shoulder to Jak.
"I...want to help."
Forest smiles and nods, taking the knife he used on the other veggies and starts to show Cenric how to cut them, cutting down the center first, then the center of those pieces, and so on so forth. He makes sure to go at a slow pace so the boy can see.

Cenric watched him closely, head cocked as his eye flitted about as he followed his hands movements. Once the man was done, he looked up. "OK."

"Not even a goodbye, huh." Jakys murmurs softly to himself as she walks away, eyes closing for a moment before he turns and walks in the opposite direction, heading out of town

Iniago lets out a small whine before he stops, a soft howl coming from his chest, one for luck and respect. Iberia pauses and looks back to him, her gaze growing conflicted before she continues to the cabin, her pace more brisk as she feels the howl tug at her chest.
"OK."
Forest watches as the boy attempts it, nodding in approval. "You learn quick."

Cenric finished one before pausing as he was getting ready to slice another in half. "I was raised that way. " says quietly as he continues. Once he was finished with all of them, he looks up at him. "Do I need to do anything else?"

Forest takes the finished potatoes and puts them in the pot, stirring them as he answers. "Everything we needed to do is down. Now we wait for this to cook, so in the meantime," he straightens and lays the spoon on the stone, looking around the cabin. It isn't messy, but it is growing a little untidy, and now that there were three of them here, he has to make a few adjustments. "I'll work a little on the hut, more clean and some place for you and your sister to sleep."
