"That's fine. I'm sure he would tell you."
"Thank you. Now sit down, before you fall over." Galen murmurs, turning his attention to Aru at his words
"I'm sorry for not telling anyone. I want to try to make things right..."
"It's fine, son." he states, kneeling in front of him, getting to eye level "But I need to know about this woman, so we can help Malyns. What did she look like? Does she have a name? Anything you can remember."

"Thank you. Now sit down, before you fall over."
X'zayvean makes a face at the words, though he movs and sits down on the makeshift fence, hand gripping his side as Hros moves to him. The stallion grunts and nibbles lightly on Zay's shoulder, a little more fond of him because of his connection to Avery.
"It's fine, son. But I need to know about this woman, so we can help Malyns. What did she look like? Does she have a name? Anything you can remember."
Aru nods and thinks for a moment, feathers ruffling a bit as he rubbed his arm gently. "She was kind of skinny, and had tattoos, I think. It was like... She almost looked like a, uhm..." he paused to think of the word. "A wildling? A jungle person? I think I remember a name. It...It started with a K....Key, kiri..." He fumbles through his thoughts, trying to remember how it was pronounced. "Keyor....Kiyori, I think?"

"A jungle person?" Galen murmurs, frowning before he goes rigid at the sound of the name, eyes narrowing into slits "Kiyori Aristark." he mutters, anger crossing his face before he spins on his heel, heading back through the camp

"A jungle person? Kiyori Aristark."
Aru watches as the commander stalks away, then he looks to Zay with a worried expression. "Did I make him mad?"
"No," he offers a meager smile. "He knows who the woman was. You didn't do anything wrong."
Aru steps over looking at Zay's hand. "Dad, what happened?"
"Just a nasty bruise."
His golden gaze found Zay's icy one, and for the first time little blue flecks could be seen. "Something else is wrong." He pauses, though recognition and renewed guilt crosses his face, and his feathers ruffle up. "Did they get your back?"
"I'll live, Aru." Zay musters another smile, motioning Aru over. "Help me up-- we're going for a walk."
"Should we be going with you hurt?" However, Aru takes his arm and pulls him up. "Shouldn't you rest?"
"I've got to try to get this kink out so maybe it'll relieve the pressure causing the numbness."

Getting to one of the smaller tents at the back of the camp Galen passes through the flap, barking out orders to the men stationed there "Move aside!" reaching the prisoner, he frees them only to yank them to their feet, heading back towards Avery's tent. Reaching it, he enters, thrusting his arm forward "Found what you need."
Jolting when yanked up by her arm, Kiyori stumbles as Galen pulls her along, eyes trying to spot any source of light, hands bound at the wrists. Hitting the floor when thrown forward, she bites back a cry, knees pulling up to her chest as she prepares for anything, dress torn in spots, braid falling, thinner than she already was, been there for days. When nothing happens, she scrambles to sit up, tensing when her muscles scream, arm slightly bruised

"Found what you need."
Zaire starts and turns around, looking at Galen before the woman before her, having just cleaned the wound on Avery's side. Recognition flickers across her gaze. "No wonder I couldn't figure out what poison is in her veins. It's a personal recipe." She kneels down and murmurs to the woman, "Don't attack, I'm not going to hurt you," before she reaches around and unties the blindfold so she could see her eyes. "Perhaps you may be able to win your freedom back."

"No wonder I couldn't figure out what poison is in her veins. It's a personal recipe. Don't attack, I'm not going to hurt you,"
Ears straining, Kiyori jerks when the blindfold is pulled off, pale green eyes looking around, focusing on the woman when her sight returns. Stiffening at the sight of a mages robes, her nose scrunches up before she stretches her arms out with a flinch, wrists chafed, rope burns spanning her skin, wanting to be free
"Perhaps you may be able to win your freedom back."
Opening her mouth to speak only when Galen walks out, she manages to get out one letter, trying to ask for water, eyes widening at the sight of Avery, springs to her feet then collapses, weak

The cleric quickly catches her, sitting her back down. "You'll be freed one way or another." She reaches onto the stool she uses for her back and pulls out a canteen and gives her water. "I know you're a prisoner, but I personally don't agree with the measures they took." Zaire waits until the woman recovers before she goes on. "I assume you know the young lady on the cot."
X'zayvean and Aru go to the clearing Zay was training in the day before. Zay slips to the ground against the same try Aru found him, and Aru stands by his side with a confused look. "Why are we here?"
"There's some a ginger plant and a devil's claw to my left, just over there," he gestures with his hand, hand still pressed against his side. "Can you pull up a small piece of root from the ginger and some leaves from the devil's claw?"
Aru looks over, spotting the two plants he was all too familiar with, and trots over, bringing them back to Zay. Pulling his knife from his belt, Zay cut a sliver of the root and wraps it around a couple of the leaves. The boy watches as Zay eats the rolls he makes, and after a momnet, he says, "Can't the cleric help ease the pain?"
Even if the concoction tastes awful, Zay doesn't show it. "This isn't a pain that can really be cured by a cleric's hand, kiddo."

"You'll be freed one way or another."
Grasping the canteen carefully between her bound hands, she lifts it to her lips and drinks, drops escaping, parched. Gasping for air a few minutes later she coughs, drunk too fast.
"I know you're a prisoner, but I personally don't agree with the measures they took. I assume you know the young lady on the cot."
"It doesn't really matter, does it? We have no say in what he chooses. Besides, I've lived through worse." Kiyori croaks, voice starting to return to her, pale eyes trained on Avery, stiffens at the question, pain flashing across her face "I do."

"It doesn't really matter, does it? We have no say in what he chooses. Besides, I've lived through worse. I do."
"Then you can help me heal her," Zaire meets her gaze evenly. "I know that a poison like that wouldn't be used without careful decision, and I know it had a purpose to being done, but you're in a camp of a king's army, and she is one of their finest knights." She pauses as though she would add more, but doesn't. "Will you tell me what was used?"
"This isn't a pain that can really be cured by a cleric's hand, kiddo."
Aru purses his lips, hands working at the hem of his tunic. "What about your side? Can't she heal that?"
Zay shakes his head. "No."
"Let me see it." Recognition shows in Aru's gaze, and he steps forward. As Zay shakes his head, the boy tenses and repeats more sternly, "Dad, let me see it."
Zay looks at Aru evenly, though as he kneels down he looks away, then lifts his shirt up only a bit, and Aru hisses, slight panic showing. "You have to--"
"Aru, I'll be fine as long as I watch what I'm doing," he murmurs. He didn't want him to know, but with Aru, nothing slips by. "As long as I keep myself in check, I'll be fine."
"But you were to go over the wall again, weren't you? To help the others?"
He shakes his head. "That won't happen for a while, if ever again."

"Then you can help me heal her"
"And why would I do that?" Kiyori asks, pale eyes flicking to hers, gaze serious
"I know that a poison like that wouldn't be used without careful decision, and I know it had a purpose to being done, but you're in a camp of a king's army, and she is one of their finest knights. Will you tell me what was used?"
"I'm in a camp full of men who would rather belittle a woman then hear her out, not one of honorable knights. If you're on their side, I refuse to help you." she states, voice a low hiss, straightens "Tell me what is wrong with her, and I will help her. But only alone, I want nothing to do with your or that man."

"I'm in a camp full of men who would rather belittle a woman then hear her out, not one of honorable knights. If you're on their side, I refuse to help you."
"I'm on my own side," she says after a moment. "I'm only here with them because it benefits my cause." Zaire stands and lowers her hood for the first time, vivid blue eyes bright. "Not all men here belittles us. The only one I've seen treat us as equal has been the commander himself. But, I can assure you, I am neutral here."
"Tell me what is wrong with her, and I will help her. But only alone, I want nothing to do with your or that man."
The cleric shakes her her. "You will let me help," she counters. "I'm not doing this for the knights. I'm doing this for my son. As far as I know, she's trapped in a nightmare state. She isn't recognizing the outside world. I've given her some herbs for the pain and the fever to at least ease her suffering until I can reverse the damage."
Aru purses his lips. "You have to tell someone, Dad," he croaks. "I don't want to have to tell someone after something bad has happened-- I did that enough between you and mom."
"I know, Aru, and I'm terribly sorry that you were put in a situation like that."
"Just because you can't trust other people doesn't mean you should hide the truth." The boy crouches beside of him. "But mom cares, and the commander worries, too."
Zay takes another bite of ginger and devil's claw, looking down. Though, his arm reaches out and wraps around Aru's shoulders, pulling him to him. "You're too smart for your own good, kiddo."

"I don't believe you." Kiyori murmurs quietly, pale eyes flicking to hers at the mention of the commander, then away "Who do you think did this to me? One of his men? Hardly."
"You will let me help. I'm not doing this for the knights. I'm doing this for my son. As far as I know, she's trapped in a nightmare state. She isn't recognizing the outside world. I've given her some herbs for the pain and the fever to at least ease her suffering until I can reverse the damage."

"And you're far too stubborn for yours. Perhaps even Malyns." Galen murmurs, green eyes glowing faintly before he steps out of the shadows "What is the meaning of this, rogue?"

"I will not. And she could be stuck there permanently if we continue to bicker as we are now."
Zaire's lips purse, black hair brushing her cheeks as she looks over the woman. "I beg of you to let me help. If I leave you in here alone, what will the soldiers think? They'll take you and put you back in the pen they pulled you from." She walks over to Avery's side, eyes kept on Kiyori. "Please."
"And you're far too stubborn for yours. Perhaps even Malyns. What is the meaning of this, rogue?"
Zay starts, a small swirl of ice peaking out his shirt where his tattoo peaks through before the frost dissipates, and slowly Zay's gaze moves towards the commander as he finishes the last roll he made himself. Aru sits on the balls of his feet, feathers lowered in uncertainty as he watches the miniature stare-down. "I have my reasons for being so stubborn," Zay murmurs. "What's the meaning of what? I'm out trying to regain strength, and currently resting."

"They would think you a traitor, Zaire Oroze." Kiyori murmurs quietly, pale eyes trained on the ground, closing them at the half plea
"Please."
"Fine. I'll allow you to help. One one condition."
"I have my reasons for being so stubborn. What's the meaning of what? I'm out trying to regain strength, and currently resting."
"Do not lie to me." Galen hisses, gaze a small storm as he walks closer to him, hand of the hilt of his sword "What happened, that you would leave her in fate's hands!"
