He started pulling the rabbit from the trap carefully.
"Aru. Does it bother you that we kill to eat?"
Aru shook his head, standing and taking her hand again and leading her towards the next trap. "Not at all. I'm a bird of prey, so hunting is natural for me, at least it was after Zay taught me."

Smiling faintly, she shakes her head "It's not that, exactly. Just... Hunting itself. The war has been nothing but body after body, loss after loss. Why do we feel the urge to kill others like animals? Bandits hunt the unsuspecting. Enemies hunt enemies." she whispers, eyes closing "There's no point."

Aru looked down. "It's because it's human nature to rule and want power, to be above everyone else," he said quietly. "At least that's what Zay told me. He said that sometimes man wants to rule and try to becomes gods, and that the other races in the world have the same pitfall, which is why we're fighting against ourselves and the Legion. Because someone else wants to rule it all."

Aru let go of her hand again to pull another rabbit, a little larger, from the trap. "Now they have. Are we ready to return to the cabin?" Holding both rabbits by the ears he took her hand again, feathers on his head fluffing just a little.

Opening her mouth, she shuts it when he continues, inhales slowly, eyes closing, sniffs "Herbs." She murmurs automatically, frowning "But I've always smelled those."
