"Is he okay?"
Eyes widening, Cas looks over at the boy, face paling "You mean he's actually out there, it wasn't a mistake?" he grits out before he runs forward more, unknowingly passing Forest up. Calling his name, he falls silent a few minutes later, catching his breath before his teeth grit, last minute attempt at finding him as he raises his hand. Tapping his right ear three times with his pointer finger, he inhales slowly then touches his temple before finally covering his eyes

A shadow passing overhead startles him and he lets out a quiet yip before he sees the hand movements, and at first, he doesn't move, overburdened. Then, slowly, he climbs out of the crevasse, feeling older than he should. He stands on the other side of it, looking towards Cas, head low and ears lowered, bright green eyes vivid against the ruddy red over his fur.

Roala finally caught up and put her hands on her knees. "There you are! What's going on?"
You mean he's actually out there, it wasn't a mistake?"

Hearing a yip, Caspian spins around, gaze searching before he stills when Forest comes out. Jaw ticking, he inhales slowly before he walks over, kneeling in front of him, hand finding it's way to his nose, forehead pressing to his fingers, eyes closing as pain crosses his face "It's been a long time, old friend." he murmurs, slowly so he can try to understand

As the hand reaches towards him, he half shies away, eyes lowering as he understands, though he presses his nose into the palm of Cas's hand with a quiet, broken sound. Forest moves slowly and sits, nearly taller than Cas as he knelt, though he held his head low, ears back.

Roala watches them a moment before she taps Cenric on the shoulder, jerking her head back towards the cabin as a signal. She mouthed for him to follow before she started walking back slowly.
Cenric glanced her, then the men, then her again before he followed silently. He knew that she meant to give them privacy and he wouldn't argue. Once they reached the door he opened it , watching as she stepped inside. Eyes widening he darted past her towards the pot that the soup rested in and he removed the lid to inspect it.
Roala watched him before moving to sit in a chair, stretching her leg out. Grabbing the cloak she pulled it around her tighter, closing her eyes.

"Sorry." Caspian murmurs quietly, slowly pulling his hand back as Forest shifts, small halfhearted smile as he leans back, sitting cross-legged across from him. Smile fading, he runs his hand through his hair out of nervousness "I don't even know how to apologize to you.."

He shakes his large head before he shakes his fur, shifting back, though his expression was a mirage of many emotions at once. Guilt, pain, relief, joy, sadness. His gaze is like a forest during a storm, and he struggles to get the words to form on his tongue. "You're not at fault," he murmurs, voice thick and low and his accent thick.

Roala cracked her eyes open, blinking as she realized that she had just previously closed them. Exhaling she pushed herself to her feet, looking over at him. "I'm going to lie down .Wake me if you need anything."
Cenric glanced up at her, glad that the soup was still good, it just needed to be stirred. "Ok." he watched as she walked to the pallet and laid down.
She lay down on her back, the one with her hurt shoulder facing the wall away from him. Not a minute after she was on her back, she was dozing- her breaths growing shorter.

Gaze flicking to him, pain crosses his face at the familiar face before he looks away, exhaling, trying not to break "I thought you had died, forest." he murmurs, quiet "Right after you saved me, and my dad-" voice cracking, he closes his eyes, unable to continue

His gaze remained on Cas as he speaks, and seeing his expression he could only imagine what the once young boy sounded like now. With another shake of his head he takes a deep breath, forcing himself to confront the past he has been running from, and too ashamed to face. "I went Abiel's killer," he starts, guilt flicking across his gaze as it flicked away. "I... I was so angry at him, at myself, and lost myself in the rage and the broken bond. " his voice wavers as he mentions the bond, a ghost of the pain coming back as a hand went to an ear. "I lost my way, but found myself back here, yet I couldn't get myself to face Norcrest properly." He pauses a long moment, his hand moving to his face. "I'm sorry, Caspian."

Cenric stirred it a few minutes for good measure, glancing over to the lump in the corner. Putting the spoon down he walked over to where she lay, sitting by her with his back propped against the wall. His knees came up and he buried his face in them.

Stilling, Cas's eyes widen when Forest covers his ear with a hand, reaches over, gently catching his wrist, gaze locking with his. "Did you... Are you..." he starts, fingers reaching up to brush his own lobe, silently asking

Forest starts at the hand at his wrist, gaze flicking to Caspian's as he studies, only catching the last "you" before Cas gestures to his ear, and he understands. After taking a breath, he gives a small nod. "It was taken when the bond broke,: he murmurs, voice cracking as his r rolls a little, an accent as the result of his deafness.

Eyes widening further, Caspian's shoulders slowly hunch, teeth gritting as he moves back a few feet then leans over till his forehead is pressed to the ground, palms pressed flat to the ground on either side of his head, bowing as he trembles in anger. At himself, and Rheraven "I'm sorry I couldn't protect you, or my dad." he whispers, voice breaking with the grief that his friend can't hear him "I couldn't save her either.." tears escaping, his fingers form fists before he straightens, blue eyes wavering "You have to keep protecting my kid." he mutters, unable to look him in the eye, face wet "Please."
