"Apologies," "It was just too loud..."
Roala's eyes flashed with confusion, but her features didn't change otherwise. "It's ok."
Cenric however tilted his head as he watched him. It was loud? He didn't hear anything. It was possible that his...sister knew more than he did. After a second he shuffled his feet looking down before he reached out and tugged on her dress.

"You, were just a casualty of war. Maybe you could forgive me.""I doubt that." Eyes narrowing when Iberia's sister catches her across the cheek, he crosses his arms over his chest, gaze finding Esper's
"Softie. Listening to a civil? I thought you were the best of the wild. Father spoke highly of you, but I think he overestimated."
"I think it's high time you went else where, little girl." he murmurs calmly"What a disgrace. And you entered a union with her? Must be desperate."
"She's more of a Sherai then you are." Jakys states flatly, eyes cold "And I'm desperate for my people, not myself. So is she. Don't let yourself get confused." Words: WORDS Addressed WORDS Mentioned: WORDS

Registering the confusion but not the words, he looked down again, then swallowed. It would make things easier. "I..." His hand lightly tapped the area by his ear. "I cannot hear," he started, looking up at them. "I can read lips, but only if I can see. Sometimes, in my head is loud, like..." he fought to form the words. "Thoughts yelling and talking."
"I think it's high time you went else where, little girl."
"She's more of a Sherai then you are. And I'm desperate for my people, not myself. So is she. Don't let yourself get confused."
Iberia's jaw worked, and her hand rose and wiped some of the blood away from her cheek, smearing some. "You don't know then."
"No, I know," Esper's gaze slid to her. "I stumbled across the aftermath on my way back to reclaim my place in the tribe. That's how I knew you were in charge." Then to Jakys, "Do you think she'll remain loyal to the people? When we were younger, she could care less. She wanted to do her own thing."
"You know nothing of what I think," Iberia snarled.
"I know all," she snapped back. "You're prideful, hate being told that you're wrong. Deep down, I know you want nothing to do with being Sherai. You didn't even want to accept it."
"Lies."
"Oh, Iberia, how little you know," Esper's voice lowered to a dangerous level. "Father spoke of the time you protested three winters ago. How you wanted no part." She grinned a little when Iberia jerked a little as though stabbed, knowing she hit the mark. "How long can you keep lying to yourself?" Sighing, she sheathed her knife, eyes even on Iberia. "You're wild, even more so than the rest of the Kahji'it, and you know it. You know you don't belong, and you know the lies you keep telling yourself with eventually melt and turn to nothing right in front of you." Esper looked at Cas, "Now I may leave. But I'll be back." She whistled, Onyx scrambling from Iniago and darting to his master's side as she started walking, pausing in front of Jakys. "I wouldn't hold your breath that this pact," she gestured to him and Ib, "will save your people." She paused, looking at his leg, then murmured, "And apologies for the leg." She reached in her pouch and tossed a small drawstring sack to him. "Put it on it and it'll heal quicker." With that, she started back through the woods, her wolf following close behind.
Iberia watched, expression unchanging until the girl was gone, and like that it seemed the weight of the world dropped on her shoulders. She dropped to her knees, knife still in hand and clutched in a death grip, eyes slightly distant and they trailed to the snow as her hair settled, some having falling from the knotted bun and some stained from the cut. Iniago slowly walked over to her, though he kept a little distance, head low and eyes perked. He gave a small whine.

Cenric watched her eyes soften before she covered his hand that tapped his face. So that's what he meant by loud. He understood the man in the sense of being different.
Roala turned his head to have him look at her. So that's why he had never met her eyes when talking, and here she just thought he was shy. "You should have told me. " she smacked her face. "And here I've been talking to you all morning."Words: WORDS Addressed WORDS Mentioned: WORDS

"Just leave." he mutters, catching the sack silently, tense until she leaves, looks at Iberia "Are you alright?" he asks, quiet, looking at her vaguely Words: WORDS Addressed WORDS Mentioned: WORDS

"You should have told me. And here I've been talking to you all morning."
Forest stared at her as she spoke, slightly surprised. He gave a small smile, eyes bright. "My apologies for not telling earlier." He looked towards Cenric, offering the smile of apology, having not wanted to cause any confusion in the first place. "I should have spoken."
"Are you alright?"
Ib's eyes remained shadowed as she took a deep breath, reaching out for Iniago, who darted over and settled under her hand. Slowly she stood, and she rubbed the wolf's ear gently. "I'm fine," she murmured, not looking at either of them as she used the back of her hand to finish wiping away the blood on her cheek. "Ini, svay." The wolf looked at her questioningly, and she spoke again, voice low enough so only he could hear. "I can't carry him."
She stepped over to Jak, kneeling and inspecting his wound. A moment later, she pulled a cloth from the inside of her boot, tying it around his leg to stop the bleeding. "Iniago."
Iniago stared a moment longer, then trotted towards her, fur rustling as he moved. His head lowered and the fur recreeded, and after a few strides the wolf had shrunk away and left a man straightening in its place, and he straightened his shirt a little. His golden eyes flicked to Cas, but he didn't say a word as he knelt down with scratches and scrapes peppering his skin. However, he kept a little distance between himself and Jak, still uncertain.

"My apologies for not telling earlier." "I should have spoken."
"Well what's done is done." she offers a hand to him before standing. "The only thing I care about now is what will we do?"
Cenric stared at him uncomfortably, though he nodded at the apology.

"I'm fine,"
"Ini, svay. I can't carry him."
Nodding shortly, Jakys falls silent, gaze troubled as he watches them, unmoving when she tends to his wound, slight tick of his jaw
"Iniago."
Looking over, Caspian stills at the sight of the beast changing from wolf to man, hand automatically going to his back before he grits his teeth when his gaze locks with Iniago's "What is this?"

"Well what's done is done. The only thing I care about now is what will we do?"
He looked at her hand, then took it and pulled himself up, stepping back a step and rubbing the back of his neck. "I'm uncertain," he said after a moment, then met her gaze. "I do understand that he shouldn't stay alone any longer."
"What is this?"
"One of the secrets that outsiders have now witnessed," Iberia murmured, leaning back from Jakys. "Iniago is known in the common tongue as a companion. In Kaji'it, he's known as a ma'heege, wolf warrior. His people act as protectors and guardians of mine, a bond of loyalty that stretches far beyond me or my father or any of the elders." She moved to hold a hand out to Jakys, but Iniago held his out inside, standing with her. "They cannot shift unless asked. Such as now."
"Ta chen je'eet, Sherai?" Iniago asked her quietly, gold eyes flicking towards her.
She nodded. "Kein cet vin." She walked and retrieved the cloak, pulling it over her shoulders. "Blacksmith..." A pause and a heavy inhale of air, "I don't want to impose any further, but I need a place to treat his wounds, as well as retrieve my sword."
He nodded then looked at Jakys. "Give me your hand."

I'm uncertain," . "I do understand that he shouldn't stay alone any longer."
Roala nodded before training her eye on the other male in the small room. "He won't be. He'll be staying with me for awhile." she turned to him. "That alright with you?"
"He won't be. He'll be staying with me for awhile. "That alright with you?"
Cenric looked at him and then her unsure. Go back home or stay with this girl who claimed to be family and the stranger. Making a decision he nodded. He would take his chances with them.

"I had heard of the stories as a child, but I had never actually seen one." Iberia nodded as Iniago helped Jakys to his feet, pulling his arm around his shoulders, then looking at Ib. Watching as she passed him and started to lead the way, his gaze grew slightly troubled, though he said nothing as he followed after her quietly, helping Jakys.

"Are you going to stay here or find another place?
"I don't know yet. I haven't really checked the town out yet. That and ill let him bring the chickens along. " responded upon seeing her brothers face, eyes in a mix of hope and unease. She smiled when his demeanor loosened some at the statement. " I really should go look around I suppose."
Cenric looks over. "You're leaving?" asks quietly. He didn't want her to go, not now. It felt safer with her here. Even her friend he sensed a good personality in him.

"You don't have to do that." Jakys murmurs quietly to Iniago, eyes trained on Iberia "You should be helping her, not me."
"I got it." Caspian states simply, catching up to Iberia and grasping her arm gently, helping her along ahead of them

"You're leaving?"
Forest hesitated a moment. "We could use my cabin. There's a smaller building that can be the chicken house." He smiled. "It'll be free."
"You don't have to do that. You should be helping her, not me."
"I got it."
"Even if I had," Iniago said quietly, golden eyes watching his master closely, sensing things that she wasn't showing, "she would've asked me to help you anyway." He paused. "She worries more about others to a fault."
Iberia, feeling Cas's hand, relaxed a fraction of an inch, recognizing his scent, though quickly she tensed, gaze trained forward. "I'm fine," she murmured to Cas, brows lowering in concentration and a stern expression.
