There are tons of choices to choose from when deciding race and species of characters. (Many of these are pulled from all sorts of sources and created from other references.). Also, characters can be more than one type, for example, a human can be a rougenguard elementalist, or a high elf distorter. The combinations are endless, and if you have an idea that isn't listed, you are more than welcome to add it below.
Elementals are beings that are comprised of nothing but the elements they control. Many are made of of one, seldom two elements, and even though they have the ability to hold a solid form, that form tends to still retain aspects of their element.
Elementalists, unlike elementsls, are humans with the ability to control the elements. The maximum one can control is four, but most control one or two.[/div]
Races
Humans
Resilient and adaptable, humans can quickly overpower any other races due to their quick mature time and the ability to multiply quickly too. Though short-lived compared to most other races, they learn more quickly and are able to live anywhere and be nearly anything. Often times, they intermarry with other species due to their diverse abilities, though are not without flaws.
Sub categories
High Garden
Those from high garden are often royalty, with pure traits and nearly no flaws, perfect features. High Gardeners are unable to truly hide their bloodlines because of their pure lines, and most other races have mixed feelings about them. Many High Gardeners hold strong opinions towards other races and clans, which often leads to fights and sometimes wars. However, some High Garden opinions are held to high regard within the councils and governments due to the High Garden's high expectation and priority of education. Many High Gardeners become high knights, tutors, and officials.
Stonesworn
The Stonesworn reside within the caverns and underground cities throughout Pernrith. They are often miners and jewelers, some moving into metal working, and are close friends to the dwarves due to their sensitivity and knowledge towards all of the precious ore and metals. They rarely travel above ground, and because of that, many are pale and porcelain skinned (sometimes even gray or their skin translucent) and dark haired, have pale eyes and a sensitivity to light. However, despite their appearance, they are by no means weak. Many are strengthened by operating large forges, mining, and digging for the ore underground. Often times, they are born with abilities connected to the earth, bestowed to them by the protectors of the Earth.
Leaux
The Leaux are the folk who live along the lake shores (sometimes even on the lakes), ocean coast, and sometimes even in the domed underwater cities. More often than none, many Leaux are born with abilities close to the water, given by the gods and goddesses of water. The Leaux have pale to lightly tanned skin, ocean toned eyes, and often have the fluidity and grace of the water itself. Some of their allies include water folk, mermaids, and even some kelpie, when they can tame them.
Florasven
The Florasven are the forest dwelling folk. Most live in feral tribes, though there are a few settled communities of them. Their appearance resemble their environment and home: neutral, wild, fierce. They have hair of all shades and eyes of the earth, from brown to green and in some cases gray. They are close to the elves and the tree nymphs, and are excellent huntsmen, herbalists, shamans, and rangers. Many harness the abilities of the flora and forest, and have a knack for taming wildlife.
Northsmen
The Northsmen are the cold people of the northern mountain ranges and snowplains. Hardened and strong, they often have a rep for being brutal and cold towards anyone they meet in the beginning, and absolutely hate the heat. However, despite their unsociable personalities, they are an important asset to both trade and protection. They act as guides across the mountain peeks and through the plains . Their establishments though are a little warmer than many of the people, and innkeepers tend to have better welcomings than the others do. They make formidable trackers, hunters, beast tamers, and knights (when they overcome their disdain for the heat), and often have stern appearances and eyes that reflect their environment they live in, from the shades of the icebergs to the chill of stone with paled skin and pale colored hair. The abilities of ice and the knowledge of the stars tend to run through their veins. The ice giants often favor the Northsmen.
Gypsy
The Gypsies are the nomads of the country. Their line is a brew of everything, as they accept outcasts, exiles, and others into their folds regardless of their race and appearance. They have some of the best voices and are cunning and swift, making brilliant performers and well-known bards, though it's recommended not to trust them with your purse. Their allies include the outcasts, gnomes, and halflings.
Rougenguard
The Rougenguard are the Amazonians of Perinth. They are brutal and beautiful warriors, with the red-toned skin and black to ebony hair and eyes of the night. Even though they are a solitary people, they are the source of some of the best materials in the country and are excellent traders, gaining allies within the wild elves and the races of beasts. The Rougenguard also make great warriors, when one can tame their fiery spirits, and are gifted in the arts of scouting and remaining unseen, and their tribes can be ruthless.

Demons
Demons are versatile in build. They can range from shapeshifting buggers to transforming demi-gods (not really gods). The list of types of demons is so broad, it's extremely hard to really give a thorough explanation of them. However, I can offer a few types.
Sub categories
Elemental Demons
Elemental demons are demons who have control over certain elements. Some can control up to six, but most have control over one to three. It all depends on their bloodlines. They do have alternate forms aside from their human form (if they so choose), and these forms often are modeled after the elements the demon controls.
Your Average Joe
These are the demon that just are demons-- living for thousands of years, super strength, an alternate form, but aren't entirely the strongest. They are able to use simple magic abilities and spells.
Shifters
These demons are similar to your average Joe, but they are able to shapeshift into various forms.
Demis
Demis are the ones that possess strength and the ability to perform all sorts of magic and vary greatly. They are stronger than your average Joes and are often times larger, but they are not without their weaknesses.
Elves
Elves are taller and more agile than humans, and live much longer. Their subcategories are similar to humans', so I'm not going too far in depth with these guys.
High Elf
Normally the royalty or higher ranking elves, all much more fair in appearance. Many become scholars, tutors, spellcasters and druids.
Moon Elf
They are close to the Leaux and hold appearances that follow more closely with water and the moon, with silvery skin and dark hair and pales eyes hat reflect starlight.
Drow
The Drow are the elves that dwell underground, though many hold a more negative rep due to their stark differences against the High Elves. Their skin is dark gray to black, and eyes paler than a full moon, and are sensitive to light. Rare but not uncommon, they can sometimes be blind, though they are by no means hindered by it.
Tree Elf
The rangers and hunters of the elves. They excel in the art of camouflage and beast taming as well as wood crafting and the healing arts.
Wild Elf
The Wild Elves are feral and fierce, often associating with no one but their own kind. Like Rougenguard, they do have some of the best items for trade and are dark in appearance.
Dwarves
Dwarves aren't as diverse as the other races, and most stay underground with their own kind. Very few venture out to the outside world.
Gnomes and Halflings
They are the smallest of all of the races, and both make exceptional illusionists, rouges, thieves, bards, and wizards. Their appearances are mixed, though gnomes are slightly taller than halflings. Both are cunning and smart, able to outsmart anyone and nearly everyone.
