History:
When he was 3, X'zayean's family was forced to leave their kingdom and driven out. His uncle Abiel and his son Caspian fled to Norcrest, while Zay's father stopped just north at Lynold's hold, where Ariella raised him and his sister. Zaire was often gone due to her status as cleric, and he grew up believing Ariella was his mother. When he was 6, he began training as an assassin to fight against the Legion, and by the time he was 7 he had fallen once to the dark influence of Rheraven. He was brought back by Zaire, though a year later an attack on his home forced him to flee, his sister and aunt dying in the fires. Alphonse had disappeared a few months prior, leaving Zay alone.

Growing up on his own, Zay took to the life of a rogue with ease, swinging between light and dark. At 14, he fell under Rheraven's influence after having crossed the wall for an assassination contract. He met Una, and thanks to her he was brought back. He didn't stay long, and ran again, uncomfortable with an easy life. Eight years later he found his way back to her, under Rheraven's influence again, though he had no recollection about his past or his former relationship with Una, and once again, she brought him back. Within a week of his return, the village fell under an attack by bandits, and when it was all said and done, X'zayvean nearly fell to the dark once more until he met Aru, who was left alone in the aftermath. Knowing he was close to darkness's door, Zay took Aru in anyway and raised him as his own son, not knowing that the boy was his biological child born to Una several years prior. The two have been traveling together now for four years.

While on the run from a group of bandits, X'zayvean met Avery, and she helped nurse him back to health, and they've been together since. They're expecting a child, and the three of them have found their way towards Galen's camp near the wall, Zay having joined the knight's ranks to fight back against Rheraven in hopes to keep Avery from harm.
