Zo turns and looks at her, then he slowly backs up and sits on the edge of the bed, offering a small quirk of his lips. "Okay. I'll stay."

Swallowing thickly, she turns over so her back is to him, gaze wavering as she fights to stare at the wall, hand gripping the cover beneath her tightly

Zophar leans back a little, hiding the sting he feels. "We make our own choices," he murmurs quietly and gently, only a tone he's ever used with her. "And I've made mine. You can protest and try to change me mind otherwise, but it won't happen."
