Hearing a rustle, she comes to a stop silently, hiding behind a tree, peeks her head out, smiling lightly when she spots a rabbit near some bushes, reaches under her cloak for a knife that's no longer there, threw it earlier. Gritting her teeth, she looks around, looking for a weapon before she sighs

Aru spotted the rabbit, circling around as he watched it a moment, then dove. Claws outstretched, he snatched the rabbit from the ground, letting out a victorious cry as he soared up to a branch, flapping his wings and tilting his head at Avery. An eye trained on her, and internally he was rejoicing. He caught it!

Eyes flocking up when Aru swoops in from the sky to grab it she sighs softly, light clap as she steps out from behind the tree "Good job."

"Good job."
Leaning down, he jumped off the branch, shifting in mid air and landed lightly with a large grin. "I only got it because you didn't have your weapon. I'm sure you would've beat me."

"I only got it because you didn't have your weapon. I'm sure you would've beat me."
"Perhaps. And then again, maybe you're just better at hunting then I am." Avery murmurs, light smile "After all, I rely on weapons to hunt, you don't."

He shrugged, holding the rabbit by its ears. "Or maybe I just got lucky." He beamed, feathers ruffling.

"Or maybe I just got lucky."
Shaking her head, she sighs softly, stretching "Well, you won. Let's go back and eat something."

"Well, you won. Let's go back and eat something."
Aru nodded, beaming still. "Okay." He turned and got his bearings, then started towards the camp.

Following him, Avery looks around the trees slowly, tensing every time she hears something

Aru trotted along, his feathers relaxed. He was excited to show Zay that he had beaten Avery, and the thought tickled him.

"Though, we do have other matters to discuss." Galen murmurs, still watching him "Moreover, the wall."

His hand halted in its tracing path and he looked up. "What is it?"

"What is it?"
"She doesn't want you to go." Galen murmurs, arms flexing, tries to relax "And frankly, she has more rank than you. So explain to me why I shouldn't listen to her. She is your woman after all, and someone I rely on."

He took a breath and looked down. "I'm not the best at persuasion, Commander," he started. "And there isn't a reason you shouldn't listen to her. However, I've got to do something. I've kept my distance long enough and every time the chance to face it all I ran again." He looked back at him. "I can't keep running, and I can't keep sitting still any longer. And in a way, I have her to thank for that. She's opened the eyes I kept closed for so long."

Studying him, Galen listens silently, hand finding it's way to the scruff on his jaw, scratches at it lightly before sighing, small wry grin "I'm sure, at the moment, she regrets that fact. But, if you're set on doing this, I'll allow it. On one condition." eyes flicking to him, his gaze sharpens "You will wait a few days to go, train more. And, you have to tell her what you're doing."
