"They won't be after us. No. It won't be us they'll be interested in."
"Who will they be interested in?" Galen watches her, gaze sharpening as he tries to learn what she knows

"Who will they be interested in?"
"There are things that even you cannot know, Commander." She takes a breath and starts walking away from the forest, lest she tries to go on the search herself. "Whoever it is, I know they can stand their ground fairly easy."

"I don't like not knowing who we're up against."
"Who they're after you need no concerns with," she murmurs, voice cracking just a little as she remembers Zay's expression, and the shadowed version of her daughter. "They won't come anywhere near."

"Who they're after you need no concerns with. They won't come anywhere near."
Pausing, Galen studies her a moment longer before he grits his teeth and reaches out, clutching her sleeve loosely "Mage.." he starts, hesitant "I need your help, if you're able."

"Mage.. I need your help, if you're able."
She looks at him, questioning as she stops when he gently grasps her sleeve. Tilting her head a little towards him, Zaire responds, "What is it?"

"What is it?"
"Are you able to cleanse graves of shadow?" Galen asks quietly, eyes closing "Can you cleanse legion, or dispel them?"

"Are you able to cleanse graves of shadow? Can you cleanse legion, or dispel them?"
She hesitates, almost going to lie to him. But, she couldn't bring herself to-- she had brought her husband and son back on numerous occasions, though she regrets that now. Now, the two of them have become something more than legion, something in between, and her heart tightens. "I can," she starts. "But cleansing legion has too many possible consequences."

"I can. But cleansing legion has too many possible consequences."
"I just want Solin to be at piece, not some legion running around any longer." Galen whispers, voice slipping along with his grip, jaw tightening in resolve "If there's consequences, I'll kill him myself, I'll just need you to cleanse me once it's done."

She purses her lips. "If I cleanse him, commander, then he will return to how he once was, but I can't guarantee his memory will be in tact." Her voice wavers a bit. "But trust me when I tell you this. If he is cleansed, he must not go anywhere near that wall or over it, or it will bode ill for the both of you. No one should have to suffer through the pain of watching someone fall over and over again to the dark. They lose a piece of themselves each time."

"You misunderstand, mage." Galen mutters, fist clenching at his side, gaze shadowed "My son is already dead, he died years ago. Nothing is left of him but the boys, which has been taken over by filthy legion."

"Apologies," she bows her head a little, then goes on. "Regardless. It's up to you whether you want them cleansed and returned, or dispelled. That is your choice."

"There is no way to return that which has died. I learned that from-" Breaking off, Galen looks away, exhaling shakily "I want him at peace."
