"I'll be sure to be ready then."
"Good. We leave at dawn. If there's anything you need, feel free to stop by my tent, and I'll set you up. Understood?"

"Yes sir," he responded with another nod. "Have a good evening, Commander," he added before turning and stepping inside the tent, looking around.

"Have a good evening, Commander,"
"You do the same, rogue." he murmurs, turns and walks back to his tent, disappearing inside

"You do the same, rogue."
As the commander walked away, Zay moved over to the cot and sat down, removing his bow and quiver, setting them against the chair. He slipped off his cloak and laid it beside him, then placed his pouched in the chair, pulling out a bit of jerky and nibbling on it. However, he didn't place Rizuin far from him-- he laid it near his head and in easy reach as he laid back on the cot, staring at the ceiling. In time he dozed.
Next morning
Zay stirred from sleep with a groan, hearing the birds starting to pipe in with the insects of the night. He sat up and rubbed his eyes, listening closely for quite some time, trying to orient himself. He had nearly forgotten where he was for a heartbeat, and once he had his bearings, he rose and got ready, putting on all of his equipment before stepping outside of his tent, looking around.

Galen stands outside fully dressed in his armor, directing soldiers while readying his own horse, tightening the saddle on it. Looking over when X'Zayvean walks out, he nods lightly, motioning him over after barking orders at a boy to get the man a horse, sighs when he scrambles off "Did you sleep well?"

Seeing the commander and his motion, Zay nodded hello as he stepped over, watching the boy as he ran off.
"Did you sleep well?"
He looked back at him as he rubbed the back of his neck. "Fairly so." He paused a moment, still trying to gauge his words. "It's different here, but it didn't keep me from sleeping too much."

"That's good. Though, I'd warn you, that you may get used to the fact of not sleeping at all some nights." Galen informs, voice quiet, mounts his horse, waiting for the boy to return

Zay gave a small knowing smile. "That's something I'm used to." He turned and looked back, searching for the boy who ran off to get the horse.

"That's something I'm used to."
"Well, then." Galen murmurs, smirking as the boy runs up, leading a light colored stallion "Think you can tame the untameable?"

"Well, then. Think you can tame the untameable?"
He looked at the horse as the boy walked up, seeing the energy rippling through it. He gave a small smirk, taking the reins from the boy with a nod of thanks. "Nothing is ever untameable. It's all about how you handle them."

Brow raising, Galen studies him a moment before he laughs, the sound rich, leans over slightly, holding his gut "Tell you what. You tame Hros, and I will personally give you the rank Malyns has, you have my word. But that's only if you tame the beast completely."

"Who, this guy?" Zay gave the stallion a pat on his neck lifting the reins over his head and to the saddle. "I doubt he's all that bad. And completely as in anyone ride or just myself?" he inquired, looking at the commander with a raised brow as he hoisted himself up into the saddle, settling. But before his feet could get in the stirrups, the stallion gave a sound of protest and raised up, dropping Zay to the ground and took a couple of prancing steps away, tossing his head with a whinny.
He wheezed a little and sat up with a small grimace, looking at the horse with a sharp gaze. "Looks like you and I are going to have some issues, Hros," he murmured, standing and taking the reins again, dusting the dirt off of himself.

"Who, this guy? I doubt he's all that bad. And completely as in anyone ride or just myself?"
"You say that now, but you haven't met him yet. And you yourself riding him will suffice to start with." Galen murmurs, laughing when he falls off, head thrown back
"Looks like you and I are going to have some issues, Hros,"
"Only one person has ever been able to ride him, as I think that's the only one he trusts." he murmurs, watching "Let's see if you can prove me wrong."

"Only one person has ever been able to ride him, as I think that's the only one he trusts. Let's see if you can prove me wrong."
With the reins in one hand, he reached around with the other, patting the other side of the stallion's neck as it's head stretched over his shoulder. Zay watched him as he listened to the commander, studying Hros's movements and quirks. He then lead the horse forward a bit, still watching him, then placed the reins over his head and on the horn, but he didn't get on the horse's back. Instead, he let the horse alone a moment, and the stallion tossed his head a little, looking back at Zay, almost with an "I dare you stance," though the prancing seemed uncertain now.
A smile reached Zay's lips. "He's just a complicated soul. Aren't you?" he pulled an apple from his pouch that he brought from home, taking his knife and cutting only a piece off, wrapping the rest of the apple in a cloth and placed it back, holding it out to the stallion. Hros sniffed Zay's outstretched hand, then took the apple, though jerked away when Zay lifted his hand to pat his neck again. "Easy," he murmured, then took a hold of one side of the reins.

"He's just a complicated soul. Aren't you? Easy,"
"That's quite an understatement." Galen murmurs, watching nonetheless, arms crossed over his chest as he waits, brow raising at Hros's actions and response to the boy
