He reaches and ruffles his hair again then stands, moving to grab a wooden container and comes back with it, placing some of the herbs he just worked with into it

Roala walked over to him slowly, and she looked over his shoulder. Or rather around his upper arm, as she wanted to see what he was doing. " You really know a lot about herbs. " she mused picking one up.

Catching the words from the corner of his gaze, he shrugged a little. "Have to when you live far from a healer," he replied. "That and it comes in handy when someone strays here. There's been a lot of people like that, actually."

"Oh? I wasn't the first person brought here? " She glanced at him, her eyebrow raising mockingly as the eye trained on him gleamed with amusement. "Who else has been here?"

"Most of them I can't remember their faces clearly-- by morning they were always gone," he replied, settling on the bench. "But there is one I remember clearly. He was young, maybe just passed his twenties, if that, when he stumbled into this neck of the woods. He had a boy with him, a few years younger than him," Forest gestured to Cenric, "and the poor lad was half dragging the young man with him. Something had happened several villages over, but the boy was so frantic I couldn't keep up with his words." He paused, thinking back a moment. "I hadn't seen someone so hurt, at least not since....I was young. He and the boy stayed for several months here. Now that I think about it, the young lad was a shifter, much like you." Greens eyes moved to Cenric. "Only he retained his feathers after he shifted."

At the next statement she hushed, turning her head to him as she listened. But her confusion only grew to the story. Once he had mentioned that the boy had been a shifter she stilled, breathing stopping a moment. It couldn't be - it wasn't so uncommon to run into shifters nowadays. It had to be someone else.
Cenric eyes widened at the words . There was another shifter like him? He looked down a moment. His thoughts were fleeting but he pondered if he would ever meet any others. Sensing a change in the air, he turned and watched her a moment. "Miss?" he questioned worry in his eyes due to the look on her face.
Only he retained his feathers after he shifted."
Roala's eyes softened and a small smile only continued to grow on her face. "I know who you are speaking of. " she murmured to him.

Forest tilted his head at her. "In a sense, I'm not all too surprised." After letting out a quiet laugh, he shook his head. "The two seemed to have traveled a lot, and the boy didn't talk much, but I gather he was from a village further south. Where did you see him?"

"I never met this man you mentioned earlier, but I met the boy at the village in which I was raised. He like you spoke of, visited a few days. "
