He nods, understanding, and sighs as he straightens a little. "I'm going to bring in a little more wood for tonight."

Cenric immediately pushed off where he had previously been leaning. "Ill help you. " says softly.

He nods and starts outside, gesturing for him to follow. He picks up the axe and moves over to the sled, pulling it over to a stump. "We've got to chop it smaller for the fireplace."

Cenric followed him outside before nodding at what he was told. Silently he took the axe from him, gently as he didn't want to yank it from his hand. After positioning himself in front of the stump he pulled his arm back before swinging the axe down. Making sure to keep his arms in the correct position he split the wood perfectly as instructed. After removing it from the stump, he looked at him. "How much do we need?"

Forest watches him, impressed and surprised. "I didn't realize you were good at chopping wood," he remarks. "Just enough for the night. So I'd say..." He steps over to the sled and pulls off only five chunks. "About this, once we get it broken up."

Cenric moved the pieces to the side before he stilled a moment- dropping the wood. "Its how I made some money the last few years. " replied quietly, staring at the ground.
"Just enough for the night. So I'd say...""About this, once we get it broken up."
He nodded before he grabbed one getting to work.

He lets the boy work, though he doesn't leave him, his smile fading just a little. Just what had the boy been through before now? In a way, he sees Caspian in his movements, and that thought brought the smile back.

Realizing he let it slip, his smile falters a little out of guilt, but he knows it's gone too far to retract the words. So instead, he laughs quietly. "Not knew, know. He's... Well, he's still around. Never truly left home. Although I thought for years that he died or left, though it turns out I was wrong, and that he's been under my nose this whole time."

Cenric's brow furrowed before he sighed. "So he doesn't want to be my dad." said quietly before walking back to the house.

In fact, he wants nothing more than to step back in, but he's afraid that wouldn't be what you want, or if you would have him. He's cautious, and he cares deeply for other people's well-being almost to a fault."
