"I am relaxed.
"Are you?" She finished her drink before setting the glass aside. "Then you don't need this." Reaching over she picked up the pebble.

"Are you? Then you don't need this."
Vane's jaw flexed a little but he said nothing as he took another drink, gaze trained across the street.

Bri watched him a moment, frowning she threw the pebble as hard as she could in the direction he was staring. "Not talking to me now? Fine I'll just watch the stars by myself. "

"No, that's not it," he said quietly, watching the pebble roll across the ground. "No, there's just... A lot on my mind."

"Whats bothering you?" Aviva clasped her hands together, draping them in between her knees. She glanced up as the sun was far off in the distance.

"Whats bothering you?"
"There's always something bothering me, even if it isn't any of my business," he replied and looked down at the contents in his glass, swishing it around. He then took a drink, finishing it off though he still held the glass.

"Who said it wasn't your business?" she turned to him, an eyebrow slowly arching. [/font]

"Who said it wasn't your business?"
"It's a given," he replied, hand lowering. "If it doesn't involve me, then I shouldn't involve myself. It's both common courtesy and a means to staying alive." Pausing, his gaze moved back to the wall where the pebble struck. "Yet, despite that, there's plenty that bothers me that isn't even any of my problems. Then again, that's when you make it your problem." He finally looked at Bri, gaze grayed and clear. "If I may."

Bri met his gaze with a frown before she exhaled, his words repeating in her head. She understood what he was saying- she too had lived by that same thought process. But right now she didn't agree with it completely. Though it would be blamed on her vulnerability and the contents of the glass. No she wasn't a lightweight, but her emotions ran high at the moment. "Hmm..." she leaned closer to him but not too close. "You shouldn't ask permission for something that you have already done. You've already took on my problems, and that means more than you think.

Vane studied her face closely, a small snort escaping at her remark. "Again, common courtesy," he murmured, a hand reaching out and twisting a small strand of her hair gently, though it drops again as he refrains. "By what I can see, the two of you have done a lot of running, and I know staying seems preposterous. But whoever it is after you, they're waiting for you to leave again, and in turn will be taken off guard if you stay. You'll have the upper hand."

"Again, common courtesy,"
Bri stilled as he did only to blink as his hand was gone. Had she imagined it? No he definitely had done that.
"By what I can see, the two of you have done a lot of running, and I know staying seems preposterous. But whoever it is after you, they're waiting for you to leave again, and in turn will be taken off guard if you stay. You'll have the upper hand."
"I- " Looking at him with a blush creeping up her skin she tilted her head. "I don't ever have any attatchments to a town because sooner or later I know we'll leave before people get to know us. I wouldn't stay on a whim. Even here I have no cause to make this place a home. " she turned away. "At least I didn't until I met you. You make me feel as if I have a chance here, that we have a chance. But I wouldn't know how to live a normal life. "

His gaze legitimately softens a fraction for the first time. "I don't normally let either Atlas or myself get attached, but somehow the two of you were the exception." Vane pauses, eyes still studying a long moment. "But who said we lived normal lives?"

"What are you saying?" she turned to him brows furrowed. After a few seconds she exhaled nervously. "Are you giving me a reason to stay? That I- we can have a home here. With you?"

At first, he doesn't want to admit it, but after a moment he nodded. "If you would want to stay. Come with us to the shop, and you two could help us run it,"

She studied him eyes softening in multiple emotions. Leaning forward she scooted closer, just a hair away. "Do you really want me to stay?" She needed to hear it from him.
