Aru slowly unfolded himself, placing a foot on the floor as he straightened a little, blinking away the groggy from his darkened gold eyes, they having changed color slightly due to his emotions. His feathers flexed again as his hand gripped the edge of his seat. "Mom....?" he murmured.

Eyes softening, she reaches out and ruffles his hair "Because while I have the strong urge to protect you, your father, and this baby, there's someone else I have to protect." she murmurs, quiet "But if you don't want me to, I won't stay. I just don't want to wait too long to tell X'Zayvean the news, lest..." voice trailing, she looks down, thinking of the worst possibility
