"Gone, sir. Sherai lured the bandits away, and we took pursuit, but the bastards lit the woods afire. We have to get everyone out and south, keeping to the west. The bandits chased her east, but we can't follow until we can get everyone to safety. Once the people are safe, we'll gather and send out a search party to find her."
I'm sorry, Iniago. We did what we could."
Stilling, his heart starts to pound in his ears at the mans words, feels like he's drowning, the same feeling he got when Kian was killed. Fists slowly clenching at his side, he grits his teeth and shakes his head, blue eyes sharp as he meets his gaze "Give me a horse, and take my people with you, to help those in need. I'm going east, after Iberia." he murmurs, pausing only a moment "I'd like to take Iniago as well, to track her scent."

"Alone?" Vras inquired, and Iniago snapped at him. "Are you sure you want to pursue Iberia on your own? At least take a couple of your men, or a warrior, somebody at least." Iniago growled and trotted towards the horses.

"Alone?" Are you sure you want to pursue Iberia on your own? At least take a couple of your men, or a warrior, somebody at least."
"I won't be alone, not if he comes with me." Jakys murmurs about the same time Iniago growls "Besides, if I take men with me, it'll just slow me down. One person traveling is faster then a group traveling." he states, following the creature to the horses

Vras watched them walk towards the horses. Without another word, he trotted and grabbed one of the packs they kept packed for emergency, walking over and grabbed the reins of a black horse, holding them out towards Jakys. "Take this," he said as he placed the pack onto the saddle. "Be safe, and as soon as you find the Sherai, ride south. Be wary of the fires downhill, and you have nothing to fear for your people. We'll get them to safety down one of the other mountain paths."
Iniago stopped acting harsh and gazed at Vras, the expression in his eyes bordering thankful.

Footsteps halting at the mans actions, Jakys studies him a moment before he reaches out, grasping Vras's shoulder gently "Thank you. And I will. I'll keep her safe, as best I can. And I'll expect you'll do the same for mine." he murmurs, arm dropping, turns and mounts the horse, grips the reins before he takes off

Vras gave a thin smile, nodding. "Safe travels, Jakys Frey."
Iniago took off after Jakys, darting in front of his horse and running down the path, head turned towards the fires as he found a way through over some rocks.

Zophar sits against a charred tree, widdling away at a piece of wood with a scowl on his face, the blackened remains of this part of the forest reminding him of his failed attempt to catch the wildling princess a week ago. His movement turns sharp and angry as he hisses. "I can't believe this," he grumbles, scowling.

"I can't believe this,"
"Patience, brother." Kali murmurs quietly with a roll of her eyes, sitting on one of the blackened stumps not three feet from him, whittling away at her own twig as she waits "Esper will back soon with the intel."
Walking into the forest, Jak frowns at the sounds of voices before he follows the sound to the source. Freezing at the sight of the bandits, he hides behind one of the last remaining trees, stiffening at the sound of Esper's name

"Esper will back soon with the intel."
"But the fact that little wench slipped through my fingers," he goes on. "Never has someone escaped me, and the fact that a nit-witted wildling did--"
"That nit-wit is one of the most strategic of the clan, and is obviously a great deal smarter than you," Esper chides, walking over as Onyx trots at her side. "At least, when it comes to doing what she wants. I know where she's hiding at, if you feel up to mending your wounded pride, Zophar."

Teeth gritting at the mans words, Jakys's hand automatically goes to the hilt of his sword before stiffening at the sounds of Esper's voice, eyes shooting towards her, unmoving

Opening her mouth to hush her brother, Kali smirks inwardly when Esper shows up to put him in his place, rising to her feet, tossing the twig away "Welcome back, friend." she murmurs, voice cool, only here for the money

Zophar seethes in silence at the rogue, eyes sharp as he glares before he stands, chucking the wood at the ground.
"Welcome back, friend."
"Hello, Kali," Esper murmurs in return, eyeing her closely before she sighs, stroking Onyx's ear. "If you ride north of here, there's a small northern community called Norcrest. She's staying with a blacksmith, though I'm sure that by the time you get there, she'll be tired of waiting in doors. She is a Kaji'it, and there's nothing they hate more than being locked up inside a building."
"How much?" Zophar grumbles.
"Well, lower than the last price, though she," Esper points to Kali, "Gets the original amount since she wasn't the one who failed."
The remark made him red-faced angry. "I'm telling you, it wasn't my fault!"
"Calm your tail feathers, Zo. You're getting to mend your wounds- I think that's a fair trade."

Going rigid at Esper's words, Jak's hand tightens on his sword, pulling it from his sheathe silently before he steps out, eyes on Esper "So you're the one who hired him to assassinate her."

"I think that's fair, brother. Did something distract you during your ambush? Or someone, perhaps?"
"I was focused the whole time," he growls, shooting a glare at her before turning his attention to the next voice.
"So you're the one who hired him to assassinate her."
Esper turns to Jak and a smile appears on her face. "Not assassinate, Frey. She was to be brought to me, or taken in to one of the kingdoms. But, no, she wouldn't have been killed." She turns and faces him, tilting her head. "Fancy seeing you here. Oh, wait," a finger goes to her jaw bone, "did she finally choose the Smithy over you and her people? I'm telling you, she isn't worthy of the tribes, nor is she worthy for you."
Zophar stands quickly, glaring at Jak. "You. You were there."

"Really? Must have lost your touch then." Kali murmurs calmly, eyes flicking to the intruder, studying him

"I left on my own, and no, she hasn't chose yet." Jakys mutters, gaze sharp as he watches her, sword raising "I'm not going to let you touch her."
"You. You were there."
"Apologies." he murmurs, gaze shooting to Zophar, gaze deathly cold "But I don't believe you were given permission to speak." turning his attention back to Esper, he locks gazes with her, sheathing his sword "You should learn how to control your dogs, princess."

"Why you little--" Zophar starts to lunge, stopping when a set of knives strike the ground in front of him, bringing him to a sharp halt.
"That's a first," she replies, watching as he sheathes his sword, hand falling from where it threw the knives. "First you sheath your sword after threatening me, then you call me princess." Her smile brightens, head tilting a little. "But regardless, I will take what's min, just as your precious Iberia will take what's hers. You saw it, didn't you? Back when I first encountered you, her and her precious smithy?".
