"I just saved your sister. You should be thanking me, not insulting me."
Inhaling sharply, Kali's chest heaves, catching her breath, eyes still closed, pain mostly gone "Brother.." she murmurs, tired

"Brother.."
Zophar moves closer and gently takes her hand, frowning as concern creased his brow. "I'm here, Kal," he murmurs, then looks to the mage. "Thank you," he mumbles lowly.
She picks up her basket and stands, smiling at him. "Now, I didn't say my services come free."
He stiffens at the statement, gaze shifting to a glare.

"I'm here, Kal. Thank you,"
"You're alive. Thank god." Kali whispers, voice cracking, tears slipping out from beneath her good eye at the sound of his voice before she stiffens at the new one that reaches her ears "Who is that."
Now, I didn't say my services come free."
"What do we owe you?" she asks lowly, barely audible

"You're alive. Thank god Who is that."
"Bridgit Elaveen," the mage answers promptly.
"A witch," Zophar murmurs, and at the same time Bridgit corrects, "Blood Mage."
"What do we owe you?"
"We have gold, take it," Zophar gestures to the pouch, distrusting of her.
"Oh no, it's not gold I'm after," she replies. "Essentially, I'm looking for fighters, someone to aid me."

"Bridgit Elaveen,"
"A witch,"
"Blood Mage."
Stiffening at the words, Kali inhales shakily, trying to concentrate, thoughts fuzzy
"We have gold, take it,".
"Oh no, it's not gold I'm after. Essentially, I'm looking for fighters, someone to aid me."
"Why do you want fighters?" she asks, voice low, cautious

"Why do you want fighters?"
"If you haven't known, there's war everywhere," she starts. "And I have my eyes set on my own share of it. Of course, it won't be without it's reward."

"That's very well, and all." Kali starts, sighing "But as of right now you have but one fighter, my brother."

"There will be two," she answers, looking over her.
"But she just--" Zophar stops, and the mage raises her hand.
"I don't need them immediately, boy," she murmurs. "Besides, she still needs tending to." She looks to Kali. "Are you well enough to ride?"

Jaw locking, Kali slowly opens the one eye, sighing softly as her hand goes to Zophar's shoulder and she pulls herself up to a sitting position "I can ride. And maybe, eventually I'll be able to fight for you."

"Good," the mage responds and walks over to one of the horses, taking its reins and secures her basket onto the saddle. "We'll be going, then."
Zophar helps Kali up, watching the maid warily. "Where are we going?"
"Somewhere so she may rest." She straightens and looks at them. "I'd suggest we hurry, lest we get caught out here during a storm."
With a purse of his lips at he decides, he helps Kali to the other horse. "I don't know how I feel about this mage," he murmurs to her.

"She saved my life." Kali murmurs quietly, reminding, inhaling slowly as she tries to adjust to having only half her sight, disoriented "But be wary, brother."

"I most certainly will be," he murmurs, helping her along. "Why did you jump in front of the arrow, Kali? Why did you risk yourself for me after I told you not to?"

"I most certainly will be. Why did you jump in front of the arrow, Kali? Why did you risk yourself for me after I told you not to?"
Getting onto the horse with his help, Kali scoots forward as much as possible, leaning back against him when he mounts, gaze falling to the saddle with a sigh "Because you're my brother, Zophar. And had I not that arrow would have struck your brain. An eye is but a mere price to pay if it means I can save you."

"And what would have become of me if you had died?" he counters, urging the horse forward as the mage starts forward. "I will admit, I can be rather foolish and have moments of stupidity, but none of my mistakes are worth losing you."

"You would have survived." Kali murmurs quietly, leaning back into him "And I made no mistake by saving you. You're the last of our family, Zophar, the last male. Our bloodline will continue with you, not me."
