"I've been in a battle, swam in freezing water in the north's winter, shot through a Damned arm, fighting cold and fever. I'm perfectly fine."
Lips twitching a moment, he studies her before sighing "Well, good to know you're still alive, at least." he murmurs, leans down and lifts her gently "But you can barely walk. So before you snap at me, at least put it off till I get you upstairs."

"Well, good to know you're still alive, at least. But you can barely walk. So before you snap at me, at least put it off till I get you upstairs."
She shot a glare towards him as jaw ticking at having her weakness pointed out, though the glare faded as she wrapped an arm around his neck while he lifted her. He was helping her, a stranger, and technically he didn't deserve the ill treatment she was hashing out. The only ones who deserved that was the man and his bandits. Her expression flickered from annoyance to worry as she remembered her people and realizing she didn't yet know of their fate, nor Jakys or Iniago. She looked down and murmured, "Sorry."

"For?" Caspian murmurs calmly, helping her into bed gently when he gets to his room, makes sure she's as comfortable as she can be "Do you need anything else? Food? Bandages?"

"For?"
"You don't deserve ill," Iberia murmured, grimacing a little as she settled on the bed, though she remained sitting up.
"Do you need anything else? Food? Bandages?"
She shook her head, gaze trained into her lap. "No. Thank you."

"No. Thank you."
"You're welcome. And, don't worry about being I'll, I understand." Caspian murmurs straightening "You think it was easy, letting a wildling girl into my home?" lips tilting up in a partial smile, he turns, heading for the door "Goodnight."

"You're welcome. And, don't worry about being I'll, I understand. You think it was easy, letting a willing girl into my home? Goodnight."
Iberia's gaze snapped to him, eyes sharpening briefly, before the look faded into slight apprehension with the fever and her mind kicking into overdrive. "Don't tell them," she whispered, looking down. "Don't tell them. I have to return to my people alive."

"Don't tell them. Don't tell them. I have to return to my people alive."
Stilling just inside the doorway, he turns back halfway, light eyes finding her face, silent a moment "I won't. I'll keep your secret, and keep you safe, as long as you stay here and don't cause trouble. Do we have an agreement?"

"I won't. I'll keep your secret, and keep you safe, as long as you stay here and don't cause trouble. Do we have an agreement?"
She chewed on the inside of her cheek a moment. Staying? She couldn't for long. Not with him tracking her. Would it be risky? And trusting him, a stranger, knowing that civils never cared for wildlings, was something she wasn't accustomed to even consider. Finally, she looked at him, caramel eyes steady despite the shadows under them. Part of her was willing, but the deeper part, the part that belonged outside, was squirming at the thought. "You have my word," she murmured with an uneasy breath.

"That'll do, then. Goodnight miss." Cas murmurs, walking out and shutting the door behind him to give her privacy

She watched him walk out, then looked at her hands. Her jaw worked as she sat in silence before she slowly moved, struggling to keep the cough that's been building at bay. She had shown enough weakness. With careful hands, she placed herself under the blankets, still shivering a little, and buried herself up to her neck like an animal would into a burrow. She rolled carefully to her side, eyes staring at the wall for a moment when she caught a scent, her nose twitching. But within a few heartbeats, she pegged it as his, remembering when he had picked her up before the bath.
A sense of comfort fell over her even as she coughed roughly, sinking into the bed and her eyes drifted closed, though her thoughts flicked between her people, Iniago, Vras, and Jakys, and the moment before she fell asleep, the man downstairs.

The next morning, Caspian gets up with a groan at the familiar yells of the errand boy leaving his daily package at his door, stretches before he walks to the front door, forgetting that he has a houseguest, dressed in only a unbuttoned button up and trousers
Words: --- Addressed: --- Mentioned: ---
Iberia started awake, drenched in a cold sweat as her hand reached out for the familiar feeling of her wolf's fur, and finding nothing but air she darted up, looking around quickly as the throb in her shoulder reminded her where she was. She took in her gown, the covers, the wood, the smells, the scent of smoked oak and faintly of metal that she recalled faintly from the night before. Her hand moved towards where the wound was, the black tendrils of the tattoo peeking from the fabric that she found oddly soft.
Slowly, she swung her feet out of bed, chilled but no longer shivering, and stepped out of the room, bare feet silent on the wood as she walked down the stairs, looking around, stilling when she found the man at the door, backing up a few steps like a startled animal to avoid being seen by the outside world.

Several hours later when the sun first started to show, Cenric lay his axe down against the stump, muscles burning. He straightened with barely a groan for two reasons. One was that he had learned to deal with it, as it came with the job. And the second was that he didn't want to get hit any more than he would have to. He made his way to the door and back down the path to his house. For he knew what would be waiting when he got there. Or whom rather.

Opening it, Caspian groans as rays of sunlight blind him momentarily, leans over and lifts the package before he turns, shutting the door with his foot. Eyes raising from his hands, he stills when he sees the wildling girl, tenses a moment, right hand going to his back as if to grab an arrow. Memories from last night coming back to him in a rush, he drops his arm, still a few uncomfortable moments before he speaks "Are you hungry?"
Words: --- Addressed: --- Mentioned: ---
"Are you hungry?"
Iberia tensed as she watched him, poised to fight or flee, though when the hand lowers she uncoiled herself, though still remained wary. "Famished," she murmured quietly, studying and chewed the inside of her cheek before moving slowly down the stairs.

"Famished,"
"Come on then," he murmurs, watching her as she takes a step down the stairs "and I'll make you breakfast. Is there anything in particular you would like? Bread? Eggs? Milk? Meat?" he asks, trying to accommodate her, eyes raking over her, checking her wounds "How do you feel?"
Words: --- Addressed: --- Mentioned: ---

She shook her head, looking around the home with a careful gaze, "Anything is fine, thank you."

Her caramel gaze found his, and though her expression was guarded and stern, her eyes were thankful. "I'll live, thanks to you."

"Bread and eggs it is then." Caspian replies, moving over to the stove and starting a fire
"I'll live, thanks to you."
Glancing over at her, his lips twitch at her expression, shakes his head, resumes cooking "Don't worry about it. Just rest, and eat, and we'll be square." pausing a moment as a thought crosses his mind, he looks back to her "You're trained at fighting, correct?"

She walked and grabbed her sword where it rested against the wall, pulling it from the sheath and studying the metal, nose wrinkling at the faint smell of residue from the river as she carried it to a chair. "Yes, I am. Though perhaps not the same style civils use." She looked him, gauging as she laid the sword in its sheath in the chair. "Why?"

"You would want to train with a wildling? What an odd notion."
"Perhaps. But I've never been one to follow the flow of others."
"Most things. As a chief's daughter, I had to learn everything a son would have learned and more. However, our fighting style differs from civils. We don't use specific patterns or rules when we fight."
"You're a chief's daughter? A princess?" he murmurs, stilling a moment before he resumes cooking. "I see. Do you prefer swordplay? Or archery?"

"You're a chief's daughter? A princess? I see. Do you prefer swordplay? Or archery?"
Realizing she had said too much she stiffened with her eyes watching him warily as her guard shot up, not understanding why she was being open to a man whose name she didn't know, a civil. At his question, she remained silent, trying to gauge the next step she took more carefully. "Personal preference," she started, voice low, "archery. I can blend and my face remain unseen."

"Personal preference. Archery. I can blend and my face remain unseen."
Going rigid at her words, Caspian pauses where he works, mouth twitches before he spins in a blur, steps in close to her. Lips almost brushing hers, he slowly smiles, eyes bright as they study hers, showing life in his gaze, normally absent "Then I challenge you, chiefling." he murmurs, pulling back a fraction of an inch, hands resting beside her waist
Words: --- Addressed: --- Mentioned: ---
Iberia coiled to spring as he moved quickly, though fell deathly still at the closeness of him, catching the smell she had smelt earlier. She leaned back a little, face twisting in slight uncertainty and confusion, eyes flicking across his face and then his lips, not knowing how to react to the closeness. But her brown graze traveled back up his grayed green, noticing the difference and his hands.
"Then I challenge you, chiefling."
Though guarded, her lips twitched a little in a smirk at the word chiefling, and her mind reasoned that since he knew what she was, or once was, it no longer mattered. "Sherai," catching herself, corrected, "Chief, actually," she muttered, gaze still studying him. "And are you sure you want to do that?" The thought of sparing around both thrilled her and caused her body to grumble a protest. Even though she was stiff, she knew sore muscles was always cured by movement.

Dropping his hands at her expression, Caspian leans back a bit more, eyes still on hers, glint still in his gaze "It's all right. If I was going to hurt you though, I would have by now." he murmurs, tilting his head at her words and smirk
"Sherai. Chief, actually. And are you sure you want to do that?"
"My apologies, Chief Sherai. And yes. It's been quite a while since I've come across a formidable opponent. The fact that you're a woman only peaks my interest. Alas, this competition will have to wait until I get back." he states, smirking

"Iberia," she corrected, nose curling at the way he used Sherai. "Saying it that way translates to you saying chief chief. And just because I'm female doesn't mean anything." Frowning slightly at the last part, her brows drew together slightly. "Until you get back?"

Laughing softly at his mistake, he shakes his head "Iberia then. Oh, but it is. Had I sparred with a man it would merely be a test of speed and strength. With you, a woman, honor is involved. A dangerous play." he murmurs, nodding "I have to go to the market to get some more food, if you're to eat. Unless you'd like to accompany me?"

She snorted at the comment on honor, eyes still trailing his face as though she were memorizing him.
"I have to go to the market to get some more food, if you're to eat. Unless you'd like to accompany me?"
Her hand moved to her hair and fingered one of the braids with the beads and feathers, brows drawn together slightly in thought. "I'm sure a wildling would draw attention here," she murmured, hesitating. A moment later though, her fingers tugged gently at the thread, pulling one loose. "But being stuck inside would be worse," she added as an afterthought, gaze drifting down and away.

Biting the inside her cheek a moment, she looked back at him, reaching and undoing the braid, beads and feathers. "I need something to wear," she murmured, looking towards where her clothes laid. "Mine are bloodstained, and I haven't anything more to wear." She decided that if she was going, then she would try to appear as civil as she could, as long as it kept attention from her. Though, as her gaze slid back to him, she realized that whatever attention she diverted from others would hardly help her case.

"That would suffice," she replied, continuing to remove the braids and the decorations, setting them on the table . Once she finished, she ran her hands through her hair, it tumbling down her back before she took it and twisted it around and tied a knotted bun, some strands falling around her face and at the nape of her neck, the rest remaining in the low resting bun.

Roala watched him as she walked a step behind him. "We wouldn't need one." Says softly. That wasnt what she meant at all, but she wouldnt say anything. She sped up, a hop to her step. "So Mr. Wolf, what should I call you?"

Nodding, Caspian turns and moves away from her to head upstairs, rummaging through his dresser when he gets to his room. Pulling out a small shirt that doesn't fit anymore and a tight pair of trousers, he piles them in his arms, returning to Iberia, holding them out towards her "I'll grab your cloak on the way out, it's by the door."

She nodded and took the clothes, moving upstairs and changed out of the dress. Coming back down stairs, she finished buttoning the top, and though it dropped a little below her collarbone she paid it no mind as she moved and pulled on her boots, sliding her dagger into them. Once finished, she turned to him, appearing a little more civil than she had before, though the tattoo that stretched her back poked out a little in the curve of her neck and her eyes still held the wild fire. "Do I at least pass for something a little more...." Her nose wrinkled at the word, "Civil?"

Roala laughed as she walked. "It wasnt hard to figure out. I've never known a wolf to take someone to a cabin and make sure theyre warm. " she looked at him with a amused gaze. Turning back to her, he tilts his head, studying before he nods, relaxing at her obvious distaste, brief dilemma past him "You look fine. Now, let's go."

"Its OK. I too have things I can't explain, and they're weirder than yours. " she raised a hand to his shoulder, but it wasnt her own. Well not the one attached to her. She looked up as they reached the village, hand disappearing. Her feet moves faster, trying to get there before he arrived.

Iniago darts through the forest and runs through the fields behind the houses, keeping away from the main road. Panting, he darts up another field and to Cas's cabin, skidding to a stop at the porch and turns his head, nuzzling Iberia's foot. She shifts a little with a quiet sound, her eyes opening halfway, then she moves and tries to sit up off of Ini's now bloodstained coat.

Looking at his hand she swings her legs to one side, the movement slow, and takes his hand and uses it as a balance point as she slides off. She hisses as she's laid down, holding on to Cas's arm until she's down, shifting her weight with a grimace as she tries to ease the pressure off the knife wound she gave herself. Iniago wordlessly gathers some cloth and some alcohol, pulling out one of Ib's knives she had left with her sword in case they needed it, and steps over to them.
