"I don't know, Bri," That chance is a little less than slim."
"Yet you still follow." She points out before leading him back inside. Walking to the couch she sits, the glass dangling from her fingers lightly.

"Yet you still follow."
"Only because saying no at the moment would've been futile," he countered, carefully taking her glass and his to the kitchen. "Another or nay?"

Only because saying no at the moment would've been futile,"
Bri laughed after a moment. "Not necessarily. You had a small chance if that had been your answer."
Another or nay?"
She dropped her hand once the glass was gone and she responded with a nod. Regardless of the nod she let out a yes as she pushed herself to her feet. Reaching out she moved the small coffee table to the side before she grabbed the side of the couch, searching for something.

Vane poured them both another glass, and after closing the bottle he grabbed both glasses then looked up, watching her a moment with a tilted head. "What's wrong?"

"What's wrong?"
"Where is it? I know it lets out s-" she paused before a confused look crossed her face. "Wait.. this isn't the right couch. " frowning she stopped moving, back straightening she just stared at the cushions.

He didn't walk over just yet, frowning at her statement. "What are you talking about?"

"What are you talking about?"
"Nothing, I just forgot something. " she looked down, her left hand going to rest on her right forearm.. That's right- that couch never exsisted here. It belonged there, when she was from. This one was merely something she had snagged on the run before she made the leap. "Moving around so much may have confused me on the furniture.

After a moment he understood, walking over and giving her her glass. "I can understand that," he said quietly, taking another sip of his drink. "Though I can't say we've had it the same as you."

"Thank you." taking a sip of her own. Wrapping both hands around it, she lowered it before meeting his gaze.
"I can understand that," "Though I can't say we've had it the same as you."
"On the contrary I could say the exact opposite. You both have been through a lot."

Vane took a seat and settled back, arm stretched along the back of the couch as he thought over it a moment. "I can't deny that we have, but the circumstances have been much different." His gaze moved to his glass, and he swirled the contents of it slowly.

Bri watched him from where she stood facing the couch. Taking another gulp of her drink, slower this time- she thought what he said. "You're right. But if I was going to compare the two, I stand by my opinion in the sense that our situations are not the same. I still have Aviva- that's all I need. But you- you lost part of your family. "

He gave a half hearted shrug, eyes closing a moment. "Our mother fell ill, and before she passed she told us we needed to run. Of course, we stayed until the very last minute, but it was so long ago." His head tilted, eyes opening, though half lidded as he looked at the glass again. "But after that, we did as we were told. Ran and kept secrets."

Bri swallowed the last of it before sitting it on the previously moved table. Moving forward she sat by him, placing her hand on his arm. "You told me not to run anymore, that I had a place to stay. Well the saying goes both ways. No more running, no more secrets. And if you have a secret, then tell me so you don't have to burden it alone. "

A wishful glimmer crossed his gaze and he looked at her, turning his head only slightly as his tired eyes studied her. "Some secrets are better left untold," he murmured, "lest they bring danger to others."

Bri eyes softened at the expression in his, but it faded at his words. Her lids closed a moment. "I know. And that alone is enough to make one second guess every decision. But I am no longer alone, nor are you. " two glossy eyes met his, full of emotion.
