"Who are you?" Jakys mutters lowly, breath hissing out in a groan as the shadow spreads to his wrist, whole hand black, teeth gritting
"I'm the one who's going to save your life." Kiyori murmurs quietly, kneeling by him and nearly falling over herself before she reaches out, fingers wrapping around his arm "This will be unpleasant." she murmurs, eyes flashing again, jerking as she pulls the shadows from his skin, faint inhuman screams cutting through the air as the darkness dissipates by her will

Unlike most people, Esper doesn't flinch at the sounds, used to them and more focused on her task than anything. Her mouth is set in a thin ling and her brows are lowered, trained on the portal.

"What do you me-" Jakys starts to mutter before jerking, cursing loudly as pain shoots through his arm, struggling against Kiy until the shadow is gone. Breaths shaky, he looks up at the ceiling, nearly passing out
"That's what I meant." Kiy murmurs, voice cracking as she continues, drawing the shadow out until it's completely gone. Releasing his arm abruptly, she listens to him breathing then forces herself to her feet, swaying as she heads for the portal, barely standing "Is that all you needed, northsmen?" she whispers, coming to a stop beside her, face pale, clouded green irises out of focus

"What do I owe you?" She murmurs, looking to her. "I know you shouldn't have used it."

"You owe me nothing, you kept the portal open. I'm tired of this." Kiy murmurs quietly, glancing in her direction before she steps forward into the portal, disappearing

Esper remains silent as she leaves, watching the portal as it dissipates, and she leans back and takes a breath.
"M'lady?" Onyx murmurs, but she shakes her head.
"I only wish she taught me more of what she knows."
"Can't you remove the shadows yourself?"
"From myself. I haven't trust my hand to do it for anyone else."

"A friend," she replies without missing a beat, finally having the fire going as she stands and rummages through what is left in the tent. Finding some extra blankets, she carries them over and covers him, taking her cloak and adding another layer.

"A friend?" Jakys asks quizzically as his eyes start to drift shut, looks at her through half lidded eyes as she covers him with her cloak "You don't have to do that.""

"And a teacher." At the remark about the cloak, she snorts. "I was born in the cold, you were not. We're more hardy in this climate, and with the amount of blood you lost, you need the extra warmth. Onyx, svay."
Onyx moves forward and shifts, moving to the other side of Jak and lays beside him, adding more warmth.

"Why did she leave you, if she is your teacher?" Jak murmurs, sighing softly as he relents to her words, slowly getting warmer with their help "Thank you."

"We..." She pauses a moment, her knees drawn up as she sits beside of him, back to him. "We went our separate ways some time ago. She had to leave to search for someone, a couple of people, actually. So we went our separate ways."

She turns and looks at him before a snort escapes her. "It's difficult to say you love someone if you haven't a clue what it feels like."
